Can you dye your hair blonde or any color if you have dandruff problems?

I've been thinking about dying my hair black or blonde and I have really bad dandruff problems I don't know what type of dandruff problem I've got It is scratchy and it comes out in little cluster like pieces, and I don't know what type it is and I want to know if I can dye it? I also wanna know what my type of dandruff problem is and how I can think it if I cant dye it right now?

I would not dye it especially not black! your just asking for trouble. If you have any kind of scalp problems you should not dye your hair until it is sorted out. It sounds like you do NOT have dandruff but a skin problem instead, I see it a lot, you should go to your GP %26amp; have it examined, in the mean time go %26amp; buy some Nizorol shampoo wash your hair with this leave on for 5 mins then rinse a little warm water on it then wash again with the same shampoo, use this instead of you normal shampoo, how long has it been like this???

I think you have Psorosis of the scalp which can look like dandruff but it is not, it is a skin complaint that needs products from your GP to help with it. It is were your skin grows to fast %26amp; before the old skin can fall off new has already grew over the top it keeps doing this.

How does scalp psoriasis feel?

There is thick scale and redness that is also evident around the scalp margins. Many patients experience severe itching and a feeling of tightness and some report soreness. One patient has described the build-up of scales as being like 'a mountain on my head'.

When should I go to the doctor?

For those with scalp patches which flare up from time to time it is possible to manage at home. Shampoo treatments are improving all the time and can be bought over the counter. Your pharmacist should be able to advise. However if your scalp is covered with thick scale or it does not clear up do consult your GP who may arrange referral to a Dermatologist. There is a range of treatments which can be prescribed including coal tar, dithranol, salicylic acid, cortico-steroids and Vitamin D derivatives to bring the flare-up to a manageable level.

Nizoral shampoo

This medicine contains the active ingredient ketoconazole, which is a type of medicine called an imidazole antifungal. Ketoconazole shampoo is used to treat skin conditions that are caused by infection with the yeast Pityrosporum. These include the skin infection pityriasis versicolor, as well as seborrhoeic dermatitis and dandruff, which is considered to be a mild form of seborrhoeic dermatitis.

If you go black, or dark then the dandruff will be visible.

I'd go for a lighter colour but yes its fine to dye your hair if you have dandruff

If you have a major dandruff problem, you should not dye your hair. Hairdye has chemicals that can ruin your scalp, and if you already have problems, dying your hair can make it worse.

You should try fixing your dandruff problem first if it is getting very bad. Head%26amp;Shoulder shampoo works well for dandruff. Otherwise, consult a doctor or a trusted hairdresser.

i don't know if you can or not you should go ask a hair salon or go get dandruff shampoo then dye your hair.

If you can go to a Dermatologist. They'll send you medicated shampoo for your hair. You would also have to ask your hair dresser whether he/she thinks you should dye your hair. Sometimes dying it will make the dandruff get worse. Have you tried the shampoos they sell in the stores (head %26amp; shoulders, etc)?

Good luck!

Dying your hair may actually help get rid of the dandruff. You might have dry scalp and not dandruff, though, so be sure to condition after you dye. Also, you could have an allergy, so do the test strand first.
