If you have something sarcastic or smart *** to say just keep it to yourself

Red tends to never really leave your hair. You'll always see it pop up in the sun.

And the box colors will not take your hair that blond. You'd have to use 2 or 3 maybe more to get it lighten all the way up.

The fastest way would be bleach. And you should go to a pro for that.

if you go to target look for like the REALLY REALLY PLATNUM BLONDE shades...your hair will NOT turn out that color but on the back or the SIDE of the box they have a color thing that shows how the blonde will most likely turn out on brown hair...its a much less platnum blonde but it might work.make sure u leave it on long enough and get ur routes.

the great thing about bleaching your hair is you can buy it at the store, inexpensively, and also, buy a bottle of your natural color to dye it back if it turns out horrible. Make sure you read each directions VERY Carefully, and call the 800 number in the box if you have more questions.

May I suggest that you buy a blonde highlighting product...one with a cap and hook.

I have had the same problem as you. I hate having orange hair.

The champaigne blonde has worked well for me...but you need to leave it on for 40-50 minutes to make sure it doesn't look orange, yellow or gold...if you leave it on long enough it will be a nice blonde color.

I would suggest this to ease your way into blondeness.

Good luck.

Since you have reddish tones in your hair now when you try to die your color lighter, it will keep some of the reddish tones. You can avoid this by using a color "stripper" first. You can find it on the same aisle as regular haircoloring products and it is around $7 or $8 for it. It will take out the permanent color you put in when you colored your hair last, then go ahead and follow the instructions on the box of hair-coloring you want to go with and color your hair according to that.

About 6 years ago I lived out of state and I have always had kind of a dirty-blonde natural hair color and my friend died my hair a dark brown and it looked aweful. My sister (she went to school to become a beautician) had to do this to my hair to remove the color because I had tried to dye it back blonde twice and it wouldn't take but after she did this it looked alot better and didn't kill my hair.

I wasn't going to answer since you had so many answers already but save for sounding smart, I have my professional viewpoint. Do you know how much money you will spend doing your hair at the salon if you attempt lightening it with color, or stripping it yourself? Lightening it with color will not achieve an even result, nor will it get it to the shade you desire. Using a stripper can work, but only by a proffessional. People are trained to do this because if you do it yourself, you can end up multiple colors, damaged, or pull the base color usually orange. That, you will NOT be able to fix yourself and even if you succeed it will most likely grab the base color of whatever you used to try and fix it. So, add up all the color you buy, then add in about twice the amount of what it would cost you right now to do it professionally because if you go in with screwed up hair, they WILL charge you for corrective color. Just trying to save you the hassle of having seriously screwed up hair, and an empty wallet.

I am a hair stylist and I would like to say you do not dye your hair blonde, you bleach it blonde .It is a slow process especially with the color of your hair now.My advice is don,t do this at home .You will be horrified at the stages you will go through. There is orange, then an awful gold and then many applications later you will ,if you can get it light enough, have to apply a toner. This is like a dye,no product from Target is going to do anything without bleaching.

I would suggest ,since all this is going to cost a lot and be a mess,I say save your money and phone your nearest hair dressing school and ask for a price. The instructers will make sure the students are doing it right.Lotsa luck pal
