Can you dye your previously dyed dark hair blonde? please help!?

I dyed my hair the other night and instead of going lighter to a dark blonde it turned out brown for whatever reason..

I've heard you can't lighten colour with colour, does this mean that if i re-dye it blonde it won't work?

If you redye it, it will either stay the same color or turn redish. Go to a salon. They will have to bleach your hair. Don't try it at home.

No. You can't put blonde color over brown. You have to bleach it first. But DON'T do this yourself. You don't know the measurements and ratio of bleach to cream, etc. so you risk it turning orange or red and getting damaged. Go to a salon to have it fixed. They can either strip the color and dye it blonde or put in a bunch of blonde highlights to make it look lighter.

Maybe visit a hairdresser?

I have just put highlights in my dark brown/black hair today and they came out a copper colour, which I am happy with

I assume you could re-dye it or bleach it if it is so dark, but it will damage the hair...chemicals, so you would have to make sure you keep conditioning it well
