I have dark kind of auburn red hair and i really want to dye it a light blonde(maybe something similar to Avril Lavigne's colour) the only thing is i dont want to have to lighten it gradually i just want to dye it all over once but i does anyone know if this will work?

It depends if your red hair is natural. If it is, then yes. If it isn't, it's possible, but I would recommend slowly highlighting it (about 2 times, maybe 3) and then dying it.

you're going to need bleach, and that'll be difficult and damaging if you do it yourself, especially trying to do the roots, i reccomend going to a stylist for any massive changes. your going to need to bleach and tone it, but i cant say what toner without seeing what shade the prelightened hair is. its very tricky getting a good blonde at home, especially if your going significantly lighter. it could possibly work, but itll be very damaging and you risk going many colors other then blonde *green, grey, orange, blue, violet, yellow*. Its best to leave a job like that to a stylist. dont let them convince you to get highlights, ask for your hair to be prelightened and toned, and bring a picute of avrils hair and say thats the shade you want.

You would need to bleach and then deposit the blonde color. I strongly suggest having it done by a professional stylist. When you're bleaching hair you have to move quickly so it lifts evenly, otherwise you will have uneven color patches and that is not cute!
