My hair blonde with a blackish brown underneath , was just wondering if i could dye it back blonde myself? or would it go a funny colour?

You can but you have to be carefull if you do it at home because it can turn oragnge. If you are doing it at home you should buy this stuff they sell at hot topic its called white out and it bleaches your hair without damaging it so then when you dye it blonde it will look more natural because it will be the pure color. But the best would probably be to get it done proffesionally but i never do its too expensive =]

yes you can, i have done it, my hair is naturally dark brown and ive dyed it black, i used this garnier ultra lift browns, its lightnes your color to up to four shades. however you must be careful cuz different hair takes differently. sometimes in the end the best bet is to go to your salon and bleach it. you can do it at home but it is very drying and damagin to your hair and it does require know how. i dye hair for a living lol so be careful!!

Darker to lighter is a problem. When ever you go lighter you have to use bleach of some kind, although you can get home remidies they often will turn your hair a funny color, or fry it because the lightner/bleach is very harsh on hair. I would recomend going to a salon to have it done they would have the experience to help you get the color you want with out damageing your hair beyond repair.

I would not attempt dying your hair back to blonde yourself. Many stylists will tell you that it's a process and it doesn't happen all in one step. They know what they are doing to ensure that your hair doesn't get dry, brittle, or turn out a funky color, among other bad things. If this is something you want to do I would consider spending the extra money to have a professional change your hair.

try and access a professional hair/beauty store,

they have professionals who can tell you which hair "stripper" would be best for your hair type.

it is pretty easy if you are good at working with your own hair, after stripping your hair,(it will be a light straw yellow or light brown colour, this process removes the natural colours from your hair) add the proper blonde shade of hair colour as per the directions.

remember to treat (condition) your hair shortly after.

the other thing that I have seen is using a streak kit,

instead of doing your hair in streaks, use it for the whole head... keep in mind, if you are extremely dark haired, you may have to use this method more than once, with a day or two in between treatments.
